Terms of Use
Last updated August 10, 2026
These terms apply to the Calgary Veterans' Walkway website and companion app. By using either, you agree to them.
Using the walkway and the app
The walkway is a public space and the app is free to use. We ask that you use both respectfully — this is a memorial, and the stories it holds belong to real people and their families.
The app is a guide, not a navigation system. Please pay attention to your surroundings, obey traffic signals, and take care near the river and roadway. Use of the app while driving or cycling is not permitted.
Content and copyright
The stories, photographs, audio and design of this project are protected by copyright and are owned by the project's partners or licensed from archives and families who contributed them. Historical photographs are reproduced under licence, including material from the Glenbow Library Archives.
You may read, listen to, and share links to this material, and use it for personal, educational and classroom purposes with attribution. You may not reproduce it commercially, republish it in bulk, or use it to train machine-learning models without written permission.
If you believe material here infringes your rights, or if you are a family member who would like a story corrected or removed, please write to info@veteranswalkway.ca and we will respond promptly.
Accuracy
The histories presented here have been researched with care, drawing on archival records and the recollections of veterans and their families. Records from this period can be incomplete or contradictory. If you spot an error, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
Availability
We aim to keep the site and app available and accurate, but we provide them “as is”, without warranties. We are not liable for any loss arising from their use, to the extent the law allows.
