Walk in the footsteps of history
ABOUT
The story of Calgary's Veterans - past and present.
The Veterans Interactive Walkway brings together stories of Calgarians who have served across generations honouring their service and sacrifice. Their experiences form an important part of Calgary’s rich military history.

THE WALKWAY
5 kms. 31 medallions. 100 stories. One powerful tribute.
The walkway stretches from Mewata Armoury along Memorial Drive to George C. King pedway bridge. Through innovative technology, stories are connected to each medallion uniting Memorial Drive into one single, meaningful journey.

Immerse yourself in a rich history.
Visitors will read and hear stories of service, sacrifice, events and places, all brought to life through immersive technology - preserving their legacy, and Calgary's history, for the future.

The City of Calgary is also homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and to the Otipemisiwak (Oti-pe-MES-se-wa) Métis Government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory (Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6). We acknowledge and give gratitude to the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations and call Calgary home.
